Your old boiler is reaching the end of its life and you are hesitating between a new gas boiler and a heat pump? Here are the criteria we review with our customers during the free visit.
How does an air-to-water heat pump work?
An air-to-water heat pump recovers the heat contained in the outside air and transfers it to the water of your heating system. It runs on electricity and delivers more heat than the energy it consumes, even in winter.
When a condensing boiler still makes sense
A gas condensing boiler also recovers heat from the flue gases and offers good efficiency. It can be suitable when the building is already connected to gas and installing an outdoor unit is difficult.
What to check before choosing
- Heat emitters: underfloor heating is ideal for a heat pump, radiators sometimes need to be adapted.
- The insulation of the building and the required output.
- The space available for the outdoor unit and the water heater.
- Hot water production, possibly with solar thermal collectors.
- Cantonal rules and possible subsidies: check the current conditions before the work starts.
